RARE very large ‘encyclopedie methodique’ are filled to the brim with fluffy ruffled pages. These books were custom printed for a family and not for commercial sale, making them a one of a kind find.
Each volume is full of text detailing the process related to the various trade crafts of the 18th century.
These 1st addition printings have their original carton covers. This was the practice used to bind books prior them being covered in leather binding that matched the owner’s library.
Each section of the task described is marked by a small customized engraving.
