Home from the hunt.

France is a beautiful country.  From the gentle rolling hills to the stunning blue skies, there is beauty around every turn…..but not always cell and/or wifi service.

I love scouring brocantes and out of the way places for treasures…..but I also love getting back to my own surroundings.

I’m looking forward to a lazy weekend…..coffee, puppy time and catching up on things.

There will be more photos to come next week so be sure to check back.

New items are in the shop and there are more to come on Sunday.

Easter Egg Alternatives

Easter Egg Alternatives

Dying eggs was something my kids loved doing when they were young.

Armed with a dozen eggs, each set off to choose their own dyes.  The latter was a production all unto itself and often took longer than the entire dying process.

Now there are beautiful Easter egg alternatives that go above and beyond the old food coloring and vinegar method.

I’m fascinated by the colors produced by plants and berries.

and who knew that a few drops of nail polish would create this kind of effect?

I’m particularly drawn to the hues produced by the blueberries and red cabbage in this chart from Pinterest….

and the grape juice from this selection.

Whatever method you choose, enjoy the process and the results.

Happy holiday weekend!

Not only have the almond trees flowered, but the cherry and every other sort of plant are in the midst of a full bloom.

Winter never really made an appearance this year.

Let’s hope this isn’t the sign of a scorching hot summer.
